Google’s Latest Update to Find My Device App is a Game-Changer for Parents
As a parent, one of the most worrying things is not being able to keep track of your child’s whereabouts. With the rise of smartphones, it’s become increasingly important to ensure that our kids are safe and responsible with their devices. Google’s latest update to its Find My Device app is a welcome relief for parents who want to keep tabs on their kids’ Android phones.
The new ‘Family devices’ tab is a feature that has been missing since the inception of the Find My Device feature. This update brings a dedicated section that lists all the devices managed under the same family or primary account. This means that parents can now easily locate and track the devices used by their kids, giving them peace of mind.

According to AndroidAuthority, the new feature is live in the Find My Device v3.1.078-1 and shows the dedicated Family devices tab along with the list of managed devices. However, it’s important to note that the Family Devices tab only shows the Android devices that are being managed by the primary account and not the accounts that are a part of the Family, despite its name.
“As a parent, it’s reassuring to know that I can keep track of my child’s device without being too intrusive. This feature is a great step towards giving parents more control over their kids’ online activities.” - Me
The APK Mirror owner Artem Russakovskii showcased the feature in action via a post on X (formerly Twitter). He also mentioned that if a user has multiple supervised accounts, they all will be listed and sorted in alphabetical order with devices grouped by account.
