The Infinix GT 20 Pro is here, and there are three things you need to know about it:

  • It’s a gaming phone. (duh!)

  • Those flashy RGB lights will make you want to go out clubbing!

I’ve been using the GT 20 Pro for about two weeks, putting it through its paces, and there’s a lot to unpack here.

The phone comes with a cool media box which had two smaller boxes inside—one with the phone and usual accessories, and the other with a bunch of gaming accessories.

Infinix GT 20 Pro Unboxing

Infinix sent us a really cool media box which had two smaller boxes inside—one with the phone and usual accessories, and the other with a bunch of gaming accessories. There’s also a QR code invite to Infinix’s brand-new GT Verse branding.

Infinix GT 20 Pro Design

The GT 20 Pro is a phone that gamers can spot from a mile away, thanks to its new Mecha Loop Lighting system. This RGB setup offers 8 color combinations and 4 lighting effects, customizable for calls, notifications, charging, and music. It’s even flashier than the Nothing phones, syncing with your games for that awesome, gaming laptop-like vibe.

Infinix GT 20 Pro Display

The display up front is far more traditional - it comes with a 6.78" FHD+ panel with slim side bezels and a slightly thicker chin. The color reproduction is excellent, and the picture quality is clear and vibrant with HDR support on YouTube.

Infinix GT 20 Pro Performance

The GT 20 Pro is India’s first phone with the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate chipset. It comes in two storage variants: 8GB LPDDR5X RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, and the top variant that we tested with 12GB RAM and 256GB memory.

Infinix GT 20 Pro Software

The GT 20 Pro runs on the latest Android 14-based XOS 14, with promises of up to 2 major Android upgrades and 3 years of security updates.

Infinix GT 20 Pro Battery and Charging

Battery backup is a strong point for the GT 20 Pro. The 5,000 mAh unit got me through the full day with the 144Hz refresh rate, performance mode, and RGB lighting enabled. The 45W charging speed is respectable but many rivals now offer at least 67W charging.

Infinix GT 20 Pro Camera

The GT 20 Pro features a triple-camera setup on the back: a 108MP main camera with OIS, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera. Up front, there’s a 32MP selfie camera.

Infinix GT 20 Pro Price

The Infinix GT 20 Pro comes in two configurations: 8GB RAM + 256GB storage for Rs 24,999 and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage for Rs 26,999.

Infinix GT 20 Pro Review- Verdict

So, here’s where we address the most important question- should one buy this phone, especially over more powerful options like the Poco X6 Pro and Realme GT 6T at similar prices?

It depends on your priorities. If you want top-notch benchmarks and performance, those might be better choices.

But if you want a feature-packed gaming phone that stands out and costs way less than a high-end gaming phone, the Infinix GT 20 Pro is a very decent option.
