The Future of Smartphones: MediaTek Unveils Dimensity 7300 and Dimensity 7300X Chips
MediaTek, a leading semiconductor company, has announced the launch of the Dimensity 7300 and Dimensity 7300X, two ultra-efficient 4nm chips designed for high-tech mobile devices, including smartphones and foldables. These new chipsets promise to deliver best-in-class power efficiency, superior performance, and enhanced features for multitasking, photography, gaming, and AI-enhanced computing.
MediaTek’s latest chipsets promise to revolutionize mobile computing
The Dimensity 7300 and Dimensity 7300X are built using a 4nm process, which provides up to 25% lower power consumption in the Arm Cortex-A78 cores compared to the Dimensity 7050. The octa-core CPU consists of 4X Arm Cortex-A78 cores operating at up to 2.5 GHz and 4X Arm Cortex-A55 cores. This configuration, combined with the latest Arm Mali-G615 GPU and MediaTek HyperEngine optimizations, accelerates gaming experiences by 20% in terms of frames per second (FPS) and improves energy efficiency by 20% compared to competitor alternatives.
“The new chips utilize smart resource optimization, optimize 5G and Wi-Fi game connections, and support Bluetooth LE Audio technology with Dual-Link True Wireless Stereo Audio.” - MediaTek
The Dimensity 7300 chipsets feature the MediaTek Imagiq 950, a premium-grade 12-bit HDR-ISP with support for a 200MP main camera. Enhanced with new hardware engines providing precise noise reduction (MCNR), face detection (HWFD), and video HDR, the Dimensity 7300 lets users capture stunning images and videos in any lighting. Live focus photo performance is up to 1.3X faster, and photo remastering is up to 1.5X faster than the Dimensity 7050. Users can also record 4K HDR video with over 50% wider dynamic range compared to competitor solutions, bringing out more details in videos.

The feature was announced at Amazon’s annual devices event last September. Powered by a proprietary large language model (LLM), this AI can understand natural language and phrases, providing answers to specific queries. For instance, users can ask, “What movie has the line ‘Life is like a box of chocolates?’” and receive the correct answer: “Forrest Gump.” Additionally, it can pull up options based on actors, characters, genres, and topics.
