RTA Launches Innovative Bus Service for Employees

As I stepped into the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) headquarters, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement and innovation in the air. The RTA has recently launched a bus service, dubbed Awselni, specifically designed for its employees. This forward-thinking initiative is a testament to the authority’s commitment to providing a convenient and comfortable commute for its staff.

The RTA’s new bus service is a game-changer for employees

The bus service, which began on June 8, will pick up and drop off RTA employees from different emirates daily. This is a significant step towards reducing the daily commute stress and promoting a better work-life balance for the employees. According to Issa Al Dossari, CEO of the Public Transport Agency, the authority plans to introduce a carpooling service for employees who need to travel for official work in the coming months.

The buses themselves are a marvel of modern technology, equipped with wireless internet and e-attendance systems. This means that employees can be marked as present from the moment they board the bus, making it easier to track attendance and streamline the commute process.

In the next two months, the RTA plans to integrate the bus service with its Vehicle Management System, allowing for real-time tracking of the buses and ensuring a smoother commute for employees.

Khalid Mohammed Hashem, Director of Planning and Business Development Department at the Public Transport Agency, revealed that 372 employees have already signed up for the service, excluding bus and taxi drivers. The project is divided into three phases, with Phase I covering the RTA main Head Office at Umm Rumool, Phase II covering Public Transport Agency employees at Muhaisnah, and Phase III including the rest of the employees in various RTA offices and centers.

The bus service will cover employees residing in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, and other emirates

This innovative initiative is a shining example of the RTA’s commitment to providing a better quality of life for its employees. As I left the RTA headquarters, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and admiration for the authority’s forward-thinking approach to employee welfare.

“We have launched this service for our employees and hope that others would follow the example.” - Issa Al Dossari, CEO of the Public Transport Agency

The RTA’s Awselni bus service is a beacon of innovation in the world of public transportation, and I have no doubt that it will set a new standard for employee commuting in the region.
