The Future of Smartphone Control: Samsung’s Shortcut Sneaker
In a world where smartphones have become an integral part of our daily lives, Samsung has taken a bold step in redefining the way we interact with our devices. Introducing the Shortcut Sneaker, a revolutionary new product that allows users to control their phone with their feet.

This innovative sneaker is the result of a collaboration between Samsung, Cheil Benelux, Elitac Wearables, Brut Amsterdam, and sneaker designer Roel van Hoff. The Shortcut Sneaker features motion sensors in the insoles, which track the position and movement of the shoe. This allows users to perform specific actions on their phone by executing specific foot movements.
“As soon as your feet move, you can operate your phone.” - Roel van Hoff
For example, doing a “flawless moonwalk” can trigger a call to your mom, while a tap dance can play music. The possibilities are endless, and Samsung has left it up to users to get creative with their footwork.

Unfortunately, this futuristic sneaker is not available for mass production. Only six pairs will be made, and they will be given away to lucky winners through Samsung Members fanbase in the Netherlands.
While this may seem like a gimmick, it’s hard to deny the excitement and potential of this technology. Imagine being able to control your phone with a flick of your ankle or a tap of your toe. It’s a whole new level of convenience and accessibility.
As I reflect on my own experiences with smartphones, I realize how often I’ve struggled to navigate my phone while on-the-go. The Shortcut Sneaker could be a game-changer for people like me, who need to multitask while staying connected.
